Bug Finder App
The idea behind this project was to create a series of illustrations for an app that helps communicate the app's content and create delight. In this case, illustrations for a bug finder app!
My target audience was the casual bug enthusiast who finds overly scientific interfaces for identifying bugs frustrating. To this user, finding and identifying bugs is about connecting with other bug enthusiasts online, and casual learning about bugs.
Encouraging Delight
The illustration style for this app embraces the fantastical nature of insects, exaggerating their features to encourage interest, and improve the sense of delight.
The nature backgrounds in this app are highly versatile, able to be cropped and rotated for different screens. All together, they form a cohesive illustration library of easy to use parts.
